Steel Pipes & Tubes / Seamless Pipes
Stainless Steel Seamless Pipe ASTM A312 TP316L
Austenitic stainless seamless pipe with superior corrosion resistance.
Overview
ASTM A312 TP316L stainless steel seamless pipes offer outstanding resistance to chloride-induced pitting and crevice corrosion, making them the material of choice for chemical processing, marine, and life-science applications. The low carbon (L-grade) variant minimises sensitisation during welding, ensuring corrosion resistance is preserved in the heat-affected zone.
Key Features
- Pitting resistance — molybdenum addition (2–3%) provides superior resistance to chloride attack
- Weld-safe — low carbon content prevents carbide precipitation at grain boundaries
- Cryogenic capability — retains toughness at temperatures as low as −196°C
- Surface finishes — available pickled and passivated, or mechanically polished to Ra 0.8 µm
- Certifications — PED, NACE MR0175, and 3.1 mill certificates available
Typical Applications
Chemical reactors and heat exchangers, pharmaceutical process lines, marine and offshore structures, food and beverage processing, and desalination plants.
