Steel Sheets & Plates / Hot Rolled Sheets
Hot Rolled Steel Plate ASTM A36
Structural carbon steel plate for general construction and fabrication.
Overview
ASTM A36 is one of the most widely specified structural carbon steel grades in the world. Our hot rolled plates are produced in a continuous rolling mill from continuously cast slabs, delivering consistent chemistry and mechanical properties across every plate. Excellent weldability, formability, and machinability make A36 the workhorse of the fabrication industry.
Key Features
- Excellent weldability — low carbon equivalent enables welding without preheat in most thickness ranges
- Wide thickness range — 5mm to 150mm covering everything from light fabrication to heavy structural work
- Plate widths — available up to 3000mm for wide structures without longitudinal welds
- Surface condition — hot rolled with mill scale; shot-blasted and primed options available
- Cutting services — plasma, oxy-fuel, and waterjet cutting to drawing available
Typical Applications
Structural steel frames, bridge girders, shipbuilding, machinery bases, storage tanks, pressure vessels (low temperature), and general fabrication.
