HEA/HEB Wide Flange Beam S355JR
Heavy duty HEA and HEB wide flange beams for high-load structures.
Overview
HEA and HEB wide flange beams provide significantly greater flange width and thickness compared to IPE sections of the same depth, resulting in superior resistance to lateral-torsional buckling and higher weak-axis bending capacity. These properties make them the preferred section for columns, heavy crane girders, and primary beams in large-span industrial structures.
Key Features
- Wide flanges — flange width equals or approaches the section height, ideal for columns under combined axial and bending loads
- HEA vs HEB — HEA offers lighter weight for a given depth; HEB provides greater flange thickness for higher load capacity
- High-strength grades — S355JR, S355J2, and S460 available for demanding structural requirements
- Extensive size range — HEA 100 through HEB 1000, covering light columns to massive industrial portals
- Full traceability — EN 10204 3.1 mill certificates on all orders
Typical Applications
Multi-storey building columns, industrial plant frameworks, heavy crane runway girders, bridge support elements, offshore platform topsides, and offshore jacket structures.
